A warm welcome – I am Louisa Stechel, a physician currently training to become a board-certified dermatologist.
After graduating from high school in Barcelona, I first completed training as a physiotherapist in Bavaria. I then went on to study human medicine in the Netherlands. My professional and personal journey has given me insight into different cultures and healthcare systems – experiences that have profoundly shaped my perspective on medicine and the individuality of my patients.
Dermatology has fascinated me since my youth. The skin is an organ that is visible from the outside, yet it reveals so much about the body as a whole. One particular area of interest for me is the connection between the immune system and the skin, as seen in conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and urticaria.
I am also particularly drawn to the aesthetic aspect of skin health, as the skin is an organ in which one must feel comfortable. I am aware of the significant impact that skin conditions can have on psychological well-being.
In my consultations, it is especially important to me that patients feel heard, understood, and well cared for with their concerns and questions.
